What is Architectural Education ?
Architecture is a unique fusion of Art, Science, and Humanity, combining creativity with logic to design spaces that serve people and communities. Architectural education introduces children and teenagers to this interdisciplinary field, fostering a wide range of skills.
Through hands-on activities, they develop artistic creativity, scientific problem-solving, and an understanding of human-centered design. This training enhances critical thinking, spatial awareness, teamwork, and communication skills.
By exploring architecture, young learners connect STEAM concepts to real-world applications, empowering them to think innovatively and empathetically. Architectural education not only nurtures creativity but also equips students with essential skills for future academic and professional success.

Project-Based Learning (PBL)
1. Planning:
Meaning in Architecture: At the initial stage of a project, clarify needs, goals, constraints, and user groups, and formulate overall strategies and conceptual directions.
Manifestation in Children's Education: Children will be guided to think: "Who are we designing this space for?" (e.g., a home for a small animal, a base for a superhero), "What functions does this space need?", "What materials can we use?".
Benefits for Children's Learning Development:
-
Logical Thinking Ability: Learning to think about problems in an organized manner.
-
Problem Analysis and Definition: Cultivating the ability to clarify needs and identify core problems.
-
Goal Setting and Strategic Planning: Learning to set clear goals and preliminary action plans for a project.
-
Empathy and Perspective-Taking: Considering user needs.

2. Research:
Meaning in Architecture: Gathering relevant information, such as historical cases, material properties, structural principles, environmental factors, urban regulations, etc., to provide a basis for design.
Manifestation in Children's Education: Children will observe real buildings (pictures, videos, site visits), explore the physical properties of different materials, learn simple architectural history and cultural stories, or understand environmental architecture concepts.
Benefits for Children's Learning Development:
-
Information Collection and Filtering Skills: Learning to obtain and judge useful information from various sources.
-
Breadth of Knowledge: Expanding understanding of the world and different cultures.
-
Observation Skills: Paying attention to details and environmental characteristics.
-
Critical Reading/Understanding: They can learn to make preliminary judgments about information.
3. Sketching & Conceptualization:
Meaning in Architecture: Transforming preliminary ideas and research findings into visual design concepts, exploring multiple possibilities through sketching, drawing floor plans, elevations, or making preliminary models.
Manifestation in Children's Education: Children will freely draw design sketches, quickly build preliminary models with blocks or simple materials, or collage design mood boards, bringing their imagination to life.
Benefits for Children's Learning Development:
-
Creativity and Imagination: Materializing abstract ideas.
-
Spatial Awareness and Visual Communication: Training the ability to conceptualize three-dimensional space from two dimensions, and learning to express ideas through graphics.
-
Hands-on Skills: Developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination through drawing and model making.
-
Prototyping Mindset: Encouraging quick attempts and iteration.

4. Coordination:
Meaning in Architecture: During the design and construction process, communicating and collaborating with different professionals (e.g., structural engineers, electrical and mechanical engineers), integrating various opinions, resolving conflicts, and managing tasks.
Manifestation in Children's Education: In team-based architectural projects, children need to divide tasks, share ideas, listen to others' opinions, and learn to negotiate and collectively solve problems when disagreements arise.
5. Presentation:
Meaning in Architecture: Clearly presenting design proposals, explaining design concepts, responding to questions, and receiving feedback from clients, approval agencies, or the public.
Manifestation in Children's Education: Children will introduce their architectural works (models or drawings) to classmates, teachers, or even parents, explaining their design ideas, challenges encountered, and solutions.
Benefits for Children's Learning Development:
-
Expressive Skills: Clearly and logically articulating.
-
Self-confidence: Sharing in front of others.
-
Logical Organization: Learning to organize thoughts and content.
-
Adaptability: Responding to questions and challenges.
-
Receiving Feedback: Learning from others' opinions.

For Children Aged 2-6

Even at a young age Architectural studies positively impact mental and psychological development of children aged 2 to 6, nurturing cognitive abilities, creativity, social skills, emotional well-being, and environmental consciousness in young children.
-
Cognitive Development: architectural studies enhance spatial awareness, shape recognition, and logical reasoning.
-
Creativity and Imagination: children explore creativity, imagination, and unique perspectives.
-
Sensory Stimulation: hands-on activities provide sensory stimulation, improving perception and fine motor skills.
-
Social Interaction: collaboration promotes social interaction, teamwork, and emotional intelligence.
-
Emotional Development: architectural studies allow emotional expression, boosting self-confidence and resilience.
-
Environmental Awareness: children develop an understanding of the built environment, aesthetics, and environmental awareness.
For Children Aged 7-12
In the 7 to 12 age range Architectural Studies provide a multidimensional learning experience that enhances the psychological growth as well as emotional well-being of children during this important stage of development.
-
Cognitive Development: it fosters cognitive skills like critical thinking and spatial reasoning.
-
Creativity and Imagination: children are encouraged innovative thinking, out-of-the-box ideas.
-
Visual and Spatial Skills: children develop an understanding of proportions, scale, and perspective towards the physical world.
-
Self-expression and Communication: children learn to articulate their concepts, present their designs, and receive feedback.
-
Problem-solving and Adaptability: children develop problem-solving skills, resilience, and adaptability as they find creative solutions, make adjustments, and learn from mistakes.
-
Collaboration and Social Skills: children learn to work together, share ideas, negotiate, and respect diverse perspectives.
-
Cultural and Historical Awareness: it exposes children to various architectural styles, develop an appreciation for different architectural traditions, fostering cultural awareness and a sense of global citizenship.
-
Emotional Well-being: it boosts self-esteem through the completion of projects, and promotes a sense of accomplishment.

For Youth Aged 13+
Life planning is a lifelong process for students to achieve goals at different stages of life. In academics, it plays a crucial role in holistic development. Through career planning education, students gain knowledge, skills, and attitudes to make informed choices about education and employment.
Our programmes offer unique experiences beyond regular school courses, focusing on architecture. It helps students understand their aspirations, interests, and abilities, providing a broader perspective on academic and career paths. We offer individual counseling and seminars by registered architects for those interested in pursuing architecture as a career.
